About
GOLDEE B. GREENE is a versatile international recording artist, stage/screen actress, pianist, and playwright, granted a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for her work in the arts and journalism, as a 2020 “Person of the Year.”
She is also the author of Black Hedda: A Theatrical Mystery of Retribution, soon to be published.
Trained at the Juilliard School in Opera and Diction, Goldee has performed at Lincoln Center/Alice Tully Hall, Kennedy Center/Terrace Theatre and Theatre Artaud/San Francisco in a lead role of the Urban Bush Women’s acclaimed dance/musical theatre piece, Praise House. “Goldee Greene is captivating!” San Francisco Examiner. She has also worked in Amsterdam, the Caribbean, Toronto, and Lesotho, Africa as well as across the United States.
Film appearances include Robert Mugge’s globally released Cool Runnin’s: The Sunsplash Reggae Movie, and the tragi-comedy Cracking Up, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, produced by Foolish Mortal Productions. She recently sang a female lead in a concert performance of new opera SummerKing: The Josh Gibson Story, under the baton of composer Daniel Sonnenberg, in Portland, Maine.
Goldee performed on Pete Seeger/Lorre Wyatt’s Grammy award-winning single, God’s Counting on Me, God’s Counting on You. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association.
Playwrighting credits include hit Off-Broadway musical comedy, Sprang Thang, produced by Amas Musical Theatre Company, at Players Theatre, New York; Viva the Divas: Music and Times of three Black-American Opera Divas of the Nineteenth Century, produced by the historic Abyssininan Meeting House, in Portland, Maine.
Goldee lives in the beautiful Hudson River Valley region with her husband, Matthew and Bagel, the poodle. They recently returned from Barcelona from the destination wedding of their lovely daughter, Ella, and beloved son-in-law, Alex. #
